As I'm finishing up my last (yes, LAST) unit before I finish school I've been given all kinds of projects that I thought I had zero interest in. One of those things being a fashion photo shoot. The task was to find a fashion ad and copy it exactly. I was dreading it. I kept telling myself "this is not my thing, I will not be good at this, this will not be fun." Some of those things are true, fashion is typically not "my thing" but lucky for me I chose someone to model for me who LOVES it and she made this project way more fun than any I had previously done. What I thought was going to be a quick lets-get-this-over-with-shoot turned into 2 hours of walking around downtown and having the best time just playing and trying new things.
Brooke has SO MUCH energy and made the whole entire process a blast. It's funny how easy it becomes to be creative - even out of your comfort zone - when you are working with someone who is fearless and up for anything. I've known Brooke for a little over two years now - I was there to photograph her wedding, the birth of her beautiful daughter, some family portraits, and twice now we've done fun styled shoots. It's been so amazing to watch her grow these past few years, she has overcome a lot of struggles and is such a beautiful person - inside and out - because of it.
So in the end I'm thankful for this assignment and to be pushed outside of my norm. Even with some minor injuries during the shoot (like I said - she's fearless) I think these images turned out wonderfully and Brooke looks stunning! Here are some of my favorites, enjoy!
